Um Novo Curtas Arranca Em Vila DO Conde

Vila do Conde | 2 Outubro 2020

A NEW VERSION OF CURTAS, WITH MORE VENUES AND AN ONLINE PROGRAM STARTS
THIS SATURDAY

The 28th edition of Curtas de Vila do Conde is about to start. This Saturday, the 3rd, we launch a special festival, committed to the new times, but where the urgency of its program is, once again, the main focus of an event that wants to be the stage for some of the best productions and experimentations in short format cinema. With simultaneous extensions to Porto, Lisbon and Faro and an online program with more than 200 films and exclusive content, Curtas Vila do Conde reaffirms the importance of encounters, cinema and venues, at a time where social interactions are compromised. A concern
well-justified in the 2020 selection, that places side by side renowned filmmakers and new voices and that rehearses a transversal look into what is done in film schools, on the international cinema scene and within the country's productions. Identities, history,
feelings of belonging, individual freedoms and acquired rights are some of the strong features of the more than 261 films that will be distributed between different sections of the festival. The opening ceremony of the 28th Curtas de Vila do Conde takes place this
Saturday, at 5 pm on Saturday, in the Municipal Theater of Vila do Conde with the national premiere of Memory House, the first feature film by João Paulo Miranda Maria. A story about prejudice and racismo in southern Brazil, interpreted by the historical António Pitanga.
